FirstMed Joins the SPAR Budapest Marathon Festival 2026

FirstMed joins the 41st SPAR Budapest Marathon Festival, scheduled for October 10-11, 2026, bringing runners and supporters together in Budapest for a weekend dedicated to activity and community. The SPAR Budapest Marathon® is organized by BSI Sport Kft. FirstMed takes part as an exhibitor.

FirstMed teams have regularly participated in the SPAR Budapest Marathon Festivals over the years, and members of our community have joined as runners or walkers. This year, we are taking a step further by also serving as an exhibitor with a dedicated FirstMed tent, where we offer free health checks and entertaining games to support the local community and promote health awareness.

FirstMed Joins the SPAR Budapest Marathon Festival with a Health-Focused Presence

Every October, Budapest fills with runners, and for years some of the faces at the start line have been ours. This time, we are bringing a bit of the clinic to the course, to connect more closely with the community.

At the FirstMed tent, runners and supporters can meet our team members and take part in free health checks and light activities during the event weekend. Activities will include blood pressure, blood sugar, and temperature checks, each taking around five minutes.

Participating in the SPAR Budapest Marathon Festival aligns with FirstMed’s philosophy that health shouldn’t be addressed only when a medical appointment is necessary. Events like this motivate people to focus on their health while engaging in active, social activities.

For FirstMed, this is a natural extension of our presence in Budapest. The clinic has supported the city’s international community for years, providing medical care in English and helping patients access healthcare for both everyday concerns and longer-term health needs.

From the Clinic to the Starting Line

As in previous years, FirstMed colleagues will take part in the Marathon by running, some alongside their families. This year the team is crossing borders: staff are traveling to Budapest from all three of our clinics in Budapest, Rome, and Milan. 

Doctors, nurses, and colleagues from across the organization will line up together, a sign of how much we believe in active, healthy living as part of everyday life. For many of the FirstMed team, race weekend is personal. Some run it every year, a few will line up for the first time, and others will be cheering from the crowd with their families.

The combination of colleagues taking part and the clinic’s exhibitor presence also reflects the wider idea behind FirstMed’s involvement: being part of the community it serves, rather than simply appearing at the event as a healthcare provider.

“We’re not there to hand out flyers,” said Dennis Diokno, FirstMed Founder and CEO. “We’re there because a lot of health problems start with something small you’d never book an appointment for: a blood pressure that’s crept up, a blood sugar reading you’ve been meaning to check. If we can catch that in five minutes at a marathon, that’s a genuinely useful way to spend a Saturday.”

What to Expect at the FirstMed Tent

The FirstMed tent will be located within the event area, making it easy for visitors to find us during the festival. Visitors can stop by for the free health checks and activities planned for the weekend. The checks will be available to all marathon participants and visitors during the event.
