What to expect at your orthopedic visit?

During your first visit—which generally takes about 30 minutes—our orthopedist examines your condition based on your symptoms and pain.

Following the initial assessment, they may order an on-site X-ray or ultrasound and inquire further about your medical history. Sometimes, additional tests may be required to receive a proper diagnosis.

Finally, you will discuss your therapy plan.

When to see an orthopedic doctor?

If you experience persistent pain in any of your joints, bones, or muscles as a result of an accident or repetitive motion injury, your primary care physician may refer you to an orthopedist.

In certain cases, it may speed recovery time to visit the orthopedist directly. If you are experiencing chronic pain, diagnosed with a rheumatic disease, or have arthritis, an orthopedic specialist is your best choice for treatment.

If you have any of the following symptoms, we recommend you make an appointment with your physician to be evaluated:

● pain, stiffness, or discomfort, making it difficult to perform everyday activities;
● chronic pain (lasting longer than 12 weeks);
● decreased range of motion;
● feeling of unstableness while walking or standing;
● soft tissue injury that is not improving after 48 hours.
