Support your child's emotional well-being and development
Overcome childhood challenges together! Childhood can be tough, with kids facing a range of issues like behavioral problems, emotional struggles, physical challenges, developmental delays, and social difficulties. These problems often have roots in family, environmental, or psychological factors. Our child psychologist can help pinpoint the symptoms and provide the right support to foster healthy growth.
How does child psychology offer support?
Learning motivation
We help children get excited about learning by focusing on their feelings and mental health. Our therapist uses effective methods to help kids manage their worries, build strength to face challenges, and foster a positive mindset. By creating a supportive atmosphere and teaching helpful coping skills, we encourage children to engage more actively in their education.
Improve focus and concentration
Enhance communication skills
Child psychology helps children improve their language and communication skills, especially in acquiring a new language. Our bilingual child psychologist is fluent in English and Hungarian and works with children from diverse backgrounds in Budapest. She helps communicate better, develop emotionally and socially, and succeed academically, particularly in bilingual settings.
Increase emotional regulation
Kids will develop skills to understand and manage their feelings using different helpful methods. Our therapist guides them in finding effective ways to cope with challenges, solving problems, and sharing their emotions in a safe environment. By building their emotional awareness and strength, children learn to handle their feelings better, which leads to healthier behaviors and stronger relationships with others.
Strengthen community relationships
Children will learn to understand and manage their feelings with helpful methods. Our child psychologist will teach coping strategies, encourage problem-solving, and provide a safe space for emotional expression. This helps children understand their feelings, build resilience, and manage emotions positively, resulting in better behavior and relationships.

The child psychotherapy process at FirstMed
1. Initial consultation with the parents
Before commencing the therapy process, you (and your spouse) will discuss your child’s challenges and their context with our therapist in a 60-minute consultation.
Our child psychologist will assess the principal elements influencing the current issues and suggest how to prepare the child appropriately for the upcoming sessions.
2. Building relationship with the child
After the initial consultation, the child will have preliminary sessions with our therapist. These meetings help the child psychologist assess them and develop a tailored therapy plan.
Typically, this requires one or two sessions; however, additional sessions might be needed depending on the child’s specific needs.
3. Development and therapy process
Our therapist will commence the child’s improvement process based on the outlined development plan.
Sessions are typically held weekly, lasting 60 minutes each, and usually require between 10 and 20 sessions for the best result. You will receive regular feedback throughout the process.
Result: improved school performance and social life
Targeted therapeutic methods help children develop coping skills, enhance social interactions, and foster a positive outlook. After therapy, you can expect to see notable improvements in your child’s emotional regulation, social skills, and learning abilities.
Our psychologist will provide you with valuable insights into your child’s needs and helpful strategies for supporting them. Together, we create a loving and collaborative space for your child’s continued growth and happiness!
