When to see an orthopedic doctor?
If you experience persistent pain in any of your joints, bones, or muscles as a result of an accident or repetitive motion injury, your primary care physician may refer you to an orthopedist.
In some instances, visiting the orthopedist directly may speed up recovery time. If you are experiencing chronic pain, diagnosed with a rheumatic disease, or have arthritis, an orthopedic specialist is your best choice for treatment.
If you have any of the following symptoms, make an appointment with our orthopedic specialist to be evaluated:
- pain, stiffness, or discomfort, making it difficult to perform everyday activities;
chronic pain (lasting longer than 12 weeks); - decreased range of motion;
- feeling of unstableness while walking or standing;
- soft tissue injury that is not improving after 48 hours.
