Dr. Gréta Sterba, a highly qualified rheumatologist with extensive experience in autoimmune and musculoskeletal conditions, is dedicated to providing expert care in English at FirstMed’s Budapest clinic. She specializes in diagnosing and treating rheumatic diseases, spinal disorders, osteoporosis, and autoimmune diseases.

Dr. Gréa Sterba has more than 15 years of experience treating back, neck, and waist pain. This includes conditions such as herniated discs, osteoporosis, autoimmune and inflammatory joint and spinal diseases, and soft-tissue injuries (e.g., tennis elbow and tendonitis). She is also experienced in advanced biological therapies.

A graduate of Semmelweis University, she trained at Flór Ferenc Hospital (in Kistarcsa, Pest County) and obtained her rheumatology qualification with excellence. She also holds certification in soft laser therapy (since 2014).

From 2011, she worked as a specialist physician at the National Institute of Rheumatology and Physiotherapy for several years, then at private institutions, including FirstMed’s Budapest clinic between 2017 and 2018. She rejoined our team in February 2026.

Dr. Sterba regularly publishes articles and lectures. She emphasizes a detailed examination to diagnose the cause of the problem accurately and recommends the most effective, evidence-based treatments (physiotherapy, medication/injections) to support a rapid recovery. She ensures patients are fully informed about their condition and treatment options.

She is a native Hungarian speaker and also speaks good English.
