
Dr. Katalin Darvas, Prof. emeritus
Anesthesiologist
As a dedicated physician, she considers the recovery of critically ill patients among her greatest achievements. She values FirstMed's patient-centered approach and appreciates the familiar atmosphere among her colleagues.
Professional and educational career:
- Since 2020, Dr. Darvas has been working as anesthesiologist at the Endoscopic Examination Center of FirstMed in Budapest.
- Since 1966, she has been working as an anaesthesiologist-intensive care physician at the Department of Surgery, Transplantation and Gastroenterology of Semmelweis University, where she headed the Anaesthesiology and Intensive Care Department between 1975-2012.
- Since 1991, she has been a university professor, teaching medical and pharmacy students in Hungarian and English, as well as training scientific student groups and PhD candidates. She is currently a professor emerita.

Throughout her career, Dr. Darvas has been a member and has held leadership roles in numerous domestic and international professional societies. She is the author and co-author of over 300 publications, including scientific articles and book chapters.
She has spent time on study visits at Humboldt University in Berlin and Addenbrooke's Hospital at Cambridge University.
In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her family and finds relaxation in listening to music.
