In Memoriam: Dr. Ferenc Tóth, 25 Years of Dedicated Service

Dr. Ferenc Tóth, FirstMed’s esteemed orthopedist-traumatologist professional, has passed away.

We are deeply saddened to announce the passing of Dr. Ferenc Tóth, a cherished member of our FirstMed family for over 25 years. Dr. Tóth’s unwavering dedication as an orthopedist-traumatologist and his role as a beloved colleague and friend will continue to inspire us.

After a courageous battle with a severe, long-term illness, Dr. Tóth leaves behind a legacy of compassion, professionalism, and dedication. He was a pillar of orthopedic surgery in Hungary whose profound impact on the field spanned many years and touched countless lives.

His journey began at Semmelweis University, where he excelled in his studies, inspired by his father’s career in surgery. With exceptional scores, he quickly climbed the professional ladder after beginning his practice in 1986 at the Budapest Metropolitan Weil Emil Hospital’s Department of Orthopedics and Traumatology. Dr. Tóth’s expertise was not confined to one area; he was an adept hand surgeon and equally skilled in trauma, endoprosthetics, arthroscopic surgery, and other orthopedic surgical domains. In addition to being one of FirstMed’s most senior medical professionals, he served as a respected chief physician at Uzsoki Hospital and later took on the role of deputy medical director and as the head of the Accident Centre at Péterfy Sándor Street Hospital-Clinic. Dr. Tóth’s exceptional career was honored with the highest recognitions, such as the Golden Ring of Uzsoki Hospital and the Lumniczer Sándor Memorial Medal from the Hungarian Society of Traumatologists.

Dr. Tóth was a distinguished surgeon and cherished colleague known for his humanity and camaraderie, even during his valiant struggle against illness. We are grateful for his work at FirstMed and extend our heartfelt condolences to his family during this difficult time.

Let’s honor Dr. Tóth’s memory by remembering him as the vibrant spirit he was, like when he participated in the Vivicittá half marathon in 2019. His enthusiasm for life and commitment to wellness will forever inspire us.

We share in the deep sense of loss felt by all who knew Dr. Ferenc Tóth (or, as we called him, Totya). His impact will continue to be felt, and our thoughts are with his family and all who knew him.
