How to get after-hours care at FirstMed?
FirstMed’s on-call doctors (GPs and pediatricians) are available for medical consultations for existing FirstMed patients in urgent but non-life-threatening cases when the clinic is closed (weekdays after 8 p.m., weekends after 3 p.m., and public holidays).
If you are not a registered patient of FirstMed, we can only assist you during our opening hours. However, we can offer you the earliest available appointment with our doctors.
To address your urgent health issue efficiently, follow the steps below:
Call the clinic
If you are our existing patient and have urgent medical concerns outside regular hours, call us at +36 1 224 9090.
Provide information
We will ask you to describe your symptoms or concerns so that we can find the best solution for you.
Get care
Our staff will determine whether a GP or a Pediatrician is the most appropriate person to handle your issue and will connect your call if necessary.
What kind of assistance can our on-call doctors provide?
When our clinic is closed, our on-call doctors may address our patients’ urgent medical needs. They will briefly assess your condition over the phone and assist with the following:
- Recommend scheduling an appointment at the clinic for examination during our regular working hours.
- Advise on the phone how to alleviate the symptoms until a personal checkup can happen.
- Discuss seeing you at the clinic for after-hours visit.
- If the problem is more severe, based on the medical history, the doctor may suggest urgent hospital care.
For visits (or Telemedicine consultations) outside our regular operating hours, an after-hours surcharge will be added to the standard visit price. Please refer to our price list or your healthcare plan conditions.
When to call for after-hours care?
Contact us for urgent concerns like:
- Abdominal pain,
- Back pain,
- Breathing difficulties,
- High fever,
- Persistent vomiting or diarrhea,
- Severe allergic reactions,
- Unusual headache,
- Urinary complaints.
In the event of accidental injuries, ophthalmological or gynecological issues, related specialist care is available only during our opening hours. Chest pain can be life-threatening. In such cases, call an ambulance on 112 or ask for help on the surgossegi.info website.
Why should you call ahead?
It is important to call the clinic first, even in case of urgent medical needs, for the following reasons:
- Outside our regular hours, our doctors are not present at the clinic. Contact with our on-call doctors is only possible by phone.
- We only accept our existing patients for after-hours care after a prior telephone consultation with our on-call doctor. Please call +36 1 224 9090 even if you require urgent examination at our clinic.
- Out-of-hours care is available only for general practice and pediatric-related issues—no specialty care is provided.
