Submit the form below to request a new prescription for your regularly taken medication.
Doctor's evaluation
Your FirsMed doctor will assess how well your current medication is working and will make changes if needed. In some instances, you may still need a consultation in person or via Telemedicine. After the evaluation, they will prescribe your medication.
Get your prescription
Your prescription will be available in a cloud-based system in 1-4 days. Then, you can pick up the prescribed medication in a pharmacy using your Hungarian TAJ (social security) or passport number. If you'd like, you can also request the prescription on paper.
Guidelines for requesting prescription refill
- If you are a regular FirstMed patient, you only need to submit the form below to get a new prescription. Note that we can only provide refills for medications we have previously prescribed for you.
- If you are a new patient at FirstMed, please make an appointment for a doctor’s consultation.
- We cannot guarantee refills for any other medications from your previous doctor without an examination or consultation with one of our physicians first.
- If the labs associated with your prescription are outdated (more than 1 year), please refresh them. Our doctors may require a new evaluation if the lab work [Last Lab Tests] associated with the medication is older than one year.
- Certain private health insurance plan holders should send us a signed claim form prior to writing their prescription. Please see the details below under Prices and payment information.
You may need a doctor’s consultation in person or via Telemedicine in the following cases:
- To get a prescription for a medication not previously prescribed for you by a FirstMed physician.
- For new patients not yet registered with FirstMed.
- Upon the individual judgment of the doctor.
- When the form is successfully completed you will see this message:
- After completing the form, you will also receive a confirmation email. If you do not receive it, please check your spam folder and ensure that you entered the correct email address.
- Please double-check whether the details given on the form are correct. If the form is submitted incorrectly, fulfilling your prescription refill request may be delayed.
- Our team will swiftly process your request and forward it to our doctor for approval.
- Your FirstMed physician will evaluate the effectiveness of your medication and make essential adjustments as needed. Once the assessment is approved, we will proceed with providing your prescription.
- Prescriptions may take 1-4 working days to be written. Plan accordingly!
- If your prescription is urgent please make an appointment to see the doctor!
- E-Prescriptions are sent to the ‘cloud’, meaning they will be held online by the Hungarian nationwide prescription system (EESZT).
- With your TAJ number, you will be able to pick up your prescribed medicine at most pharmacies.
- With your passport number, you will be able to collect your medicine at some pharmacies. Look to larger chains and inquire in advance there.
- If you requested your prescription on paper, you can get it at FirstMed’s reception.
- If you take less than the prescribed dose at the pharmacy, due to a possible shortage of stock or because you decide that you need less than the prescribed amount, balance of your prescription will be voided.
As of April 2023, we cannot process prescription requests sent us by forwarding a previous prescription by e-mail. We only process prescription renewal requests submitted by the online form below or by appointment.
