Tina Pálfalvi: Patient Relations

Newsletter Nov.13 - Palfalvi TinaMy career at FirstMed began a little over three years ago. At the time, I had just moved back to Hungary from England, and had no idea that I would come to think of the clinic as my second home.

As patient relations coordinator, I am the first and key contact person for new and existing clients and business partners. As the official face of the clinic, I represent FirstMed at business events. My most important responsibility, however, is keeping in touch with our clients, and making sure they are satisfied with our services. Presenting the products and services of the clinic to clients is also a large part of my job. Our patients can rely on me to let them know about the special offers and plans that may be best suited to their personal needs and budget. My job is to bridge any gaps in communication between our patients and the clinic and to help our clients feel comfortable and content. I also provide price quotes to individuals or companies, and can always be approached with questions to avoid confusion. As someone who is well-versed in the needs and expectations of our clients, my involvement in our marketing team, helps us more efficiently develop various projects and offers to continually improve our services.

I love my job! The variety in my work is one of my favorite things about it. My job is colorful, there is always a different project to work on, and something new to be learned. The positive feedback from patients is also something I enjoy tremendously, and when they ask for me personally to help with appointments or answer any question regarding our services. I find it so touching when formerly pregnant patients bring in their 2-3 year old toddlers for a pediatrician’s visit. It is so amazing that I get to see them grow up, and watch their mothers preparing to have another child with us.

I would say that the most challenging aspect of my job is related to the Hungarian mentality about private clinics: to me it still seems a little dated. What I would like to accomplish is to help people realize that they do not need to spend a fortune in order to receive quality private care. With our in-house packages, patients can enjoy special benefits while they have access to the best health services in a pleasant environment with friendly staff–for the price of a gym pass!

FirstMed has a unique atmosphere with a positive, can-do attitude, not to mention: most of our patients are like family members to us. In my opinion, the key to our success lies with the fact that we have such a closely knit team to work with; we have contact with the management on a daily basis. In case any problems arise, we can always solve them as a team.

Over the course of my time here, I have learned so much about work ethic, my colleagues, different cultures, and people in general; these experiences have certainly improved my personality. I am grateful that my job is one that I can genuinely enjoy, and am proud to be a part of the FirstMed team.
