What will you learn in our First Aid Course?

FirstMed’s comprehensive First Aid Course is a blend of theoretical knowledge and hands-on practice with particular emphasis on the following areas:

  1. First Aid Basics: Understand the principles of first aid, focusing on emergency responses for infants, children, and adults.
  2. Pediatric First Aid: Master how to address common childhood injuries and emergencies, including choking, cuts, burns, and allergic reactions.
  3. Adult First Aid: Learn to manage adult-specific emergencies such as heart attacks, strokes, severe bleeding, and perform CPR.
  4. Injury Prevention: Gain insights into minimizing injury and health risks for both children and adults.
  5. Emergency Protocols: Know when and how to contact emergency services effectively.
  6. Practical Skills: Engage in hands-on practice on CPR techniques for different age groups and the Heimlich maneuver for choking.

Our training covers more than just handling injuries and life-threatening events. Plenty of things can happen that might be frightening but aren’t necessarily severe enough to merit an ambulance ride. You will also learn how to manage these situations.

In summer, we add particular emphasis to preventing and providing basic first aid for heat-related illnesses and overexposure to sunlight, including sunburns and heat rashes.

Who can benefit from gaining first aid skills?

Our First Aid Course is designed for anyone interested in acquiring the necessary skills and techniques to handle critical situations, including:

First Aid Course pediatric adult children

We also offer specialized, on-site classes customized to company needs, e.g., for summer camps, schools, cruise ships, amusement parks, and more)! If you are interested, please contact us.

The First Aid Course schedule

Please arrive 15 minutes before the class starts, and register at our reception.

This introductory session will cover the basics of first aid, emphasizing its importance and the role of the first aider.

This session covers how to treat various injuries, such as animal bites, wounds, fractures, and burns, as well as illnesses like dehydration, diarrhea, and fever in infants, children and adults.

During the summer, we expand our curriculum to include practical knowledge and skills for preventing and providing basic first aid for heat-related illnesses such as heat exhaustion, heat stroke, and dehydration. We also address overexposure to sunlight, including sunburns and heat rashes.

There will be 15-min coffee break after the first session.

During this training portion, you will go over some essential practical exercises. These include:

  • What to do with an unconscious casualty and a choking person;
  • How to recognize respiratory and/or cardiac failure;
  • The sequence of life support for children, infants, and adults:
    • The SAFE approach to a collapsed person;
    • The primary survey of an unconscious person — the ABC rule: Airway, Breathing, Circulation;
    • The recovery position in cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR).

At the end of the first aid course, we will summarize the theoretical and practical knowledge covered during the training, followed by a Q&A discussion session to answer any questions you may have.

Certificate and First Aid Booklet

Upon completing the course, you will be awarded a Certificate, a testament to your commitment and knowledge in providing first aid for babies, children, and adults.

You can also take home Children and Adult First Aid Booklets in English (and Hungarian). The booklets include helpful advice about pediatric and adult first aid and an extensive summary of what you’ve learned during the course.
